Klingons ready for Transport!

That's right, folks! Get out your Bat'leths and let's get the bloodwine kegs out! 

The first BETA for Klingons is now ready! This only includes one ship type, the B'Rel Bird of Prey, but others are coming. 

Naturally, this also includes a blank page, in case you'd like to make your own. 

Different, but the same

In creating a Klingon variation, I didn't really want to change a lot. There needed to be no learning curve here- you've played with the Federation one? Great. This is the same. Just a new coat of paint. 

However, I did want it to feel different. If you've been following this since the beginning, you've probably heard me discuss the immersion factor when recording these stories. I don't want to just take notes- I can do that anywhere. The notes, the activity, all of it needs to feel immersive. It helps the experience. 

And so, even though this is a new coat of paint, I wanted it to feel different. So I did a lot of little things: 

• Flavor text is different
• Fonts are updated
• Klingons use a triangular grid where possible
• Klingon ship placement will look different in the ship view
• Where the Federation files are intended to be classified (or secret, to some degree), the Klingon files are conversely meant to be shared. 

This effectively is the same thing as the Federation ship sheet...but man it feels so different. I spent a lot of time playing with this until it did, but I'm still tinkering. And that's why this is currently considered a beta. 

Galactic View

The Klingons have the luxury of having the most updated Milky Way map. This Beta includes the galactic map, which shows just how little territory the quadrant powers hold. It took a long time to build a printer-friendly map, but I'm really happy with this. I'll continue to tinker, but it's tough fitting so much galaxy onto such a small page. 

This too, obviously benefits from the Klingon coat of paint. 

Mission Sheets

Every part of this, for the most part, has an update, and one of the most fun moments for me was replacing the deltas that tally each scene. 

I really like the Klingon logo with the negative space inside, which still gives you easy access to the number.
